Daily activities

Kai is a more hand-on boy. He likes puzzles a lot. He enjoys painting. He likes play dough. He also enjoys books too, particulaly books on numbers. :)

Everyday, he will ask for his wooden music puzzle on number and the cardboard number puzzle. He will say out the number as he takes them out and fixes them back. Now Kai can count spontanteouly correctly at times.. when we say 1, Kai will continue "2" and "3" and so on..all the way to 20. Kai enjoys counting. When given objects such as cars, he will count them happily.

Last night, Kai surprised mummy when he said, "2 babies" when he hold up 2 soft toys. :D Coincidence?!

Waving the number in the air as he read it out.

Kai caught mummy. :p

Number 7!

Another favourite activity - Play car. Thinking how to play them.. line them up. Move them up and down the edge of the sofa??

Finally lining them up..

There is no doubt that stimulation from jiejie plays a very important role in Kai's learning. With the same set of puzzle on the floor, Kai learns number, its sequence, counting, while jiejie uses them to revise addition, number bonds, greatest and smallest rule... and so we switch from one level to the next together. Kai who is always just nearby may just be listening too. And so he picks up along the way. Last night, jiejie lay out her blanket on the floor and pretend to be at a picnic (YES! Jiejie enjoys pretend play a lot a lot). Soon later in the night, Kai told mummy, "mummy, let's go picnic!" See how amazing and powerful they learn from each other and of course, this also include many other cheeky tricks. hahaha..
